So Where Do we Go From Here?
Scientific Experiments should always leave you wondering more. Both third grade and fourth grade classes have decided there is a great deal more they would like to discover using OREOs. Each student has decided to develop and explore their own scientific experiment. Therefore we have decided to explore the Scientific Method and question its strategic approach. Students were asked to discuss their ideas concerning the scientific method, determine the structure and substantiate their reasons with examples from our OREO project. Pictures below showed how 2 different groups felt about the process.
The rationale behind these new structures were to see the significance of research in an experiment and to use it to substantiate, refute, or define your ideas along the way. We also believe that elements of the Scientifc Method are circular or recursive because they need to be reflected on continously throughout the project.
Upcoming- Check out the Scientific Experiments our Third and Fourth Grades develop as we challenge ourselves to extend our OREO 2008 Project.
